Community Solar Farms
The solar subscription program gives OUC’s residential and business customers access to sustainable, maintenance-free solar energy without the hassles and costs associated with installing panels on their homes or businesses.

Utility-Scale Solar
Large solar farms are an efficient and cost-effective way to give more people access to electricity generated by sustainable energy sources.
OUC is a top producer of solar power among Florida municipal utilities through its own solar arrays, as well as through power purchase agreements with outside operators.
Did you know OUC has more than doubled its solar generation portfolio?
In December 2024, OUC opened two new 74.5 MW solar farms: Harmony II and Storey Bend. With 300,000 panels apiece, these farms double OUC’s current solar capacity, boosting it to No. 3 among Florida utilities in solar watts per customer.
Solar Around Town
Discover how OUC has embraced technology to generate solar power in innovative ways.

Floating Solar Panels
Solar arrays placed on retention ponds and other bodies of water make the best use of available space and avoid the need to buy expensive land for solar farms.

Solar Sculptures
These artistic structures put energy back into the electric grid, enough to energize mobile device charging stations and electric vehicle chargers.

Solar as Shade
Solar canopies, situated in parking lots, parks and other locations to make maximum use of available space. Not only do they provide a renewable source of energy, but they also shade for the people and vehicles underneath.
Solar Innovations
OUC is researching and developing energy storage systems—such as battery energy storage systems, flywheels and hydrogen—to support the grid, particularly during periods of high solar PV generation.
