Empowering Communities Through Sponsorships

To make an impact in our communities, serve the underserved and create a thriving region, OUC awards sponsorships to nonprofits that are working to address four pillars: social impact, education, environmental stewardship, and economic development.

Social Impact

Be a good neighbor in the communities where we live, work and play by directing community resources towards programs and organizations that provide social services to those in greatest need; make arts and cultural experiences accessible; and foster social inclusion of marginalized groups.

Education

Create positive social change by supporting education initiatives that focus on STEM learning, foster careers in the electrical and water utility industries and develop conservation leaders.

Application and Approval Process

If you believe that your organization and its mission align with our priorities and requirements, you may submit a request through the online submission tool. Most approved sponsorships are in the $1,000 to $5,000 range, while higher amounts may be considered when a program is an exceptional fit.

All requests must include the following information:

  • A description of the organization, goals, and the project specifications including demographics and how many people you anticipate reaching.
  • Designation of which of the four pillars of giving will be supported.
  • A description specifying the intended outcomes and impacts of the project.
  • A tax-exempt certificate verifying status as a 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4) or 501(c)(6) non-profit organization.
  • Provision of 2 or 3 sponsorship options with a range of costs.
  • A description of how your organization will measure, track and report outcomes of funding and specific results that demonstrate measurable community impact on one of the four pillars.

Applications must be submitted 60 days prior to the date of the event or activity.
We often receive funding requests far in excess of our customer outreach and education budget. Regrettably, we must often decline support for otherwise worthy proposals. It does not imply that the applicant’s program is not vital or valued. It may be that the request does not fall within our giving priorities and/or guidelines or that all funds for the year have been allocated.
