Robinson Street Electric Distribution Project

Project Overview

To provide you with the most dependable and resilient services and to accommodate Orlando’s continued growth, OUC – The Reliable One is undergrounding overhead distribution lines between North Rosalind Avenue and Summerlin Avenue. Overhead transformers on poles will remain on streets that intersect East Robinson Street. The project includes relocating approximately 0.2 miles of existing electrical duct bank and approximately 0.23 miles of existing overhead facilities to a new underground manhole duct-line system.

OUC is working in coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation’s (FDOT) Robinson Street Resurfacing, Restoration and Rehabilitation (RRR) project from Hughy Avenue to Mills Avenue and the City of Orlando’s Robinson Street Sanitary Sewer Improvements project. OUC’s water main project will be completed ahead of FDOT’s RRR project.

Project Schedule and Traffic Impacts

The Robinson Street Electric Distribution project was placed on hold at the end of October 2024. Construction will resume on January 13 and will continue through April 2025.

Dates: Monday, 11/13/2024 – Wednesday, 04/30/2025 Times: 24-hours a day
East Robinson Street	• East Robinson Street will be closed to eastbound traffic from Rosalind Avenue to Eola Parkway. Motorists can drive westbound on East Robinson Street between Cathcart Avenue and Rosalind Avenue, although the lane will shift to the south side of the road. • Driveway access to businesses will be available. • The intersection at Broadway Avenue and East Robinson Street will be closed. Broadway Avenue, starting at East Ridgewood Street to East Robinson Street, will be closed to through traffic. • At some point throughout the project, for a four-week period, work will need to take place on the east side of North Eola Drive, disrupting a portion of the sidewalk and the sidewalk will be closed in this area. • At some point throughout the project, for approximately a two-week duration, a portion of the sidewalk on the south side of East Robinson Street between Hillman Avenue and North Eola Drive will be closed. The sidewalk on the north side of East Robinson Street will remain open.
